Still in orbit: Solar Power Sessions in its 25th year

Suzy Solar’s long-running trance programme began in 2001. Episode 955 now brings that continuing signal into DanceRadio’s fresh rotation.

A bright cyan-and-gold abstract solar disc crosses neon orbital rings above the words “Solar Power Sessions,” “2001–2026” and “Episode 955 in fresh rotation.”

Some radio programmes are built around a season. *Solar Power Sessions* has been building an orbit for a quarter of a century.

Suzy Solar’s programme began in 2001, according to the artist profile published by trance station AH.FM. That starting point places the series in its 25th year in 2026—an unusually long run for an independently produced electronic-music show.

DanceRadio now carries episode 955 in fresh rotation. The file runs just under an hour, is approved and active, and joins a station library that also preserves several longer *Solar Power Sessions* editions.

One programme, several shades of trance

The title suggests brightness, but the programme is not confined to one narrow sound. Syndicating stations describe *Solar Power Sessions* as moving through uplifting trance, tech trance, psytrance and progressive trance, with the mix shaped as a continuous journey rather than a stack of disconnected tracks.

That range helps explain how a show can continue across so many episodes. Trance has changed repeatedly since 2001: production has become heavier and cleaner, subgenres have split and recombined, and the routes by which a radio show reaches listeners have moved from scheduled stations toward podcasts, archives and social platforms.

The programme name has remained constant while the music inside it has had room to move.

What episode 955 means on DanceRadio

Episode numbers can become decorative when a series runs this long. Here, the number is useful evidence.

Public tracklist records date episode 955 to August 2026, while DanceRadio’s own programme database records the matching edition as a technically validated, approved hour from Suzy Solar. It is assigned to the station’s fresh tier and remains active for managed playout.

That does not mean DanceRadio should invent a fixed airtime for it. Outside the station’s named weekly features, programmes move through a fair programme-first rotation. Fresh material receives the strongest weight, but the shared signal still balances different shows rather than repeating one series until its newest edition has played.

For listeners, the practical message is simple: episode 955 is current, available to the live clock and heard as part of the same continuous station as house, progressive and other trance programmes.

Longevity without freezing the show in time

A long-running programme can easily be treated as heritage. *Solar Power Sessions* is more interesting as a current series with history behind it.

The 2001 launch date explains the scale of the episode number. Episode 955 proves the sequence is still moving. DanceRadio’s active copy turns those facts into something audible rather than merely commemorative.

There is also a useful contrast with the station’s recovered archive work. Some historical records survive as flyers, logos or inbox trails. A continuing programme survives differently: by producing the next edition, then the one after that.

Twenty-five years after its starting point, *Solar Power Sessions* is not framed on the wall. It is still in rotation.
