Saturday October 31st 2015 Renaissance presents
Vinyl vs Digital 3 (Halloween Costume Party)

Renaissance returns to the City of Love with an extra special night of ghosts and ghouls getting down on 2 floors. This is not a TRICK but it sure will be a TREAT! The evening’s festivities begin at 8pm with a 2 hour Halloween happy hour with drink specials and hors d’oeuvres hosted by Paul Alfano and Angie Nicastro.

As always we have put together a fantastic line up of artists from near and afar who will mix their sorcery of magical music using vinyl and digital weapons.

CHRIS SHEPPARD (Dogwhistle Sound System)
Returning to the decks after a stomping session at Vinyl vs Digital part 1, he was also part of Toronto’s original rave scene where he used the name Dogwhistle. In addition to his work on CFNY 102.1, Energy 108 and Pirate Radio, he formed the Juno Award-winning dance group BKS, and the equally successful Love Inc. He released several very successful CD compilations under both names as well as occasional releases under a pseudonym. He has recently done remixes for Bjork and Booka Shade. Often imitated but never duplicated, Shep is on the warpath.

DEADLY HEDLEY (CFNY, 1 Groove, Energy 108)
Wheeeeel n’ come again…So nice we have to play it twice…if you want to get up, you got to get down…. Hedley Jones aka Deadly Hedley hosted the All Night Dance Party on CFNY. Broadcast live-to-air on Saturdays, midnight-to-6 a.m. from 1990-1994, the program was the only one on commercial radio to explore the intersection of house, hip-hop, reggae and rave. He also founded The DJ Takeover. A Toronto legend.

CRAIG BEESACK (CFNY, Cotton Club, Catch 22) Saturday nights on CFNY started with Craig Beesack “Warming Up The House”. “Craig was a totally unique DJ who combined industrial and heavier four-on-the-floor techno into a seamless mix that gave his night at Catch a unique flavor, and also made it very different from his weekly alt-rock night at The Cotton Club in Markham. His knowledge of the music, selection, and skills in playing it were the reasons I hired him to create Warming Up The House.” -Don Berns
